Christantus Uche Fuels Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Even though embarking on their maiden European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Without key figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a comfortable result that virtually guarantees them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
Another victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This match offered a chance for several Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in match.
A Shelbourne side that had finished their league season proved outmatched even for a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the traveling side.
